Rolling Shoes – modular shoes
Rolling Shoes is the winner of the student competition “Design students make a better world“ in Master in Product Design category. ( http://studentcompetition.design/ )
I started working in it during my first level university thesis.
Rolling Shoes is a modular shoe, composed by three parts: sole, insole and upper shoe. The rods of the insole are inspired by the cap pour used by Bartenders.
The shoe is designed on the basis of orthopedic parameters, foot’s motion during the steps phase and daily transfers.
Moreover, every part is created for a fast taking apart and interchange of materials and colors, that make the object more strong and cool.
As such, it is possible to have more solutions in a single shoes couple.
In a organized production run, the product can be produced and presented in a kit with various configurations depending on seasons, shape soil and materials finishing.
This could cause economic advantages to the users and acontemporary s substantial ethical-environmental vantage on the production run.
Of course, thanks to this way of proceeding, materials can be reused and recycled.
Wearing a pair of Rolling Shoes it is sufficient to put in suitcase only additional upper shoes for solving set of problems as wet feet, hygienic and stylistics issues.
